Hello everyone!
Super Charity Week (March 3rd-7th 2008) is The Woodlands annual fundraising endeavour, co-ordinated and orchestrated by our Prefects. Last year, the Prefects raised over $25,000 for a variety of organizations including the Canadian Cancer Society and Doctors Without Borders.
The agenda for the January 28 Council Meeting is now available on the Council web site at http://woodlandscouncil.com/agendas/2008-01. We hope to see you there.
Thank you to everyone who completed the survey on seminar topics and interest. If you haven't completed the survey, please take a minute to answer our six quick questions at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=2a3dY2cPJC0JhoTo3shlBQ_3d_3d. Your input is invaluable to our planning and direction.
Hello everyone,
As you may know, Stephen Lewis will be speaking at The Woodlands on Tuesday March 4th, 2008. Mr. Lewis is the former Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa to UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, and the chair of the Stephen Lewis Foundation (http://stephenlewisfoundation.org/) located in Toronto. He is also the Co-Director of AIDS-free, an international advocacy group that is based in the United States. His book, Race Against Time, published in 2006, has been hailed worldwide and at this moment, has been integrated into many of our academic departments, as part of the curriculum.
We are thrilled to have this opportunity and in fact, his presentation will help kick off Super Charity Week, an annual event at the Woodlands. His organization will be the recipient of the funds that are accrued during the week of March 3-7th, 2008.
An undertaking such as this requires sponsorship, to fund a variety of facets of the project that will enhance and fortify our fundraising efforts.
Happy New Year everyone! We hope your winter break was enjoyable and wish all the students well on their upcoming exams.
