Peel Public Health will be reviewing the immunization records of all students at our school starting this fall.  In order to attend school in Ontario, all students must have a complete immunization record.  When the review process begins, if Peel Health does not have complete immunization records for your child, you will receive a letter in the mail telling you that your child's record needs to be updated.  If you do not update the record by the date indicated in your letter, or you do not have a valid exemption, your child may not be allowed to attend school.  To find out if your child's record is complete, call Peel Public Health at 905-799-7700.  Caledon residents can call toll-free at 905-584-2216. 

You can get ready for this process by checking your family doctor to make sure your child has all the required immunizations and by making sure Peel Public Health has all of the immunization dates.  You can update your child's record at Peel Public Health in one of four ways:

• Go online to http://www.region.peel.on.ca/health/immunization/ and click on "report your child's immunization"
• Fax the record to 905-789-0597 or 905-458-9217
• Phone at 905-799-7700 (Toll free: 1-888-919-7800)
• Mail a copy of the record to: Peel Health, Immunization, 44 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton, Ontario L6T 4B5

If you do not have a family doctor, the Region of Peel provides a list of walk-in clinics that may provide immunizations.
