Outstanding Music Accomplishments

During the week of May 11th, The Woodlands School was well represented at MusicFest Canada, a National Music Festival where music ensembles from across Canada perform after qualifying at the regional level.  Six of our ensembles were invited to perform and we are excited to report on the outstanding results of the dedicated work of our Woodlands' Students.  Our Chamber Choir earned a Bronze standing, the Intermediate Concert Band, Chamber Strings and Senior Jazz Band all earned silver standings and the Senior Concert Band and Wind Ensemble both earned Gold Standings.  Honour Awards were presented to Karen W. for her work in the Choir, Tappy H. on cello for her dedication in the Chamber Strings, Phoenix Z. on Oboe for her work in the Intermediate Concert Band, Le L. on clarinet for his leadership in the Senior Concert Band, Jonathan W. on euphonium for his outstanding musicianship in the Wind Ensemble and Sally K.  on drumset for her leadership in the Senior Jazz Band.  Congratulations to all the students and Kudos to Mrs. Barber Kahro, Miss.  Devenish,  Mr. Marjanovic and Mr. Mootrey for their dedication and hard work in making our students shine.
