Woodlands School Council

The Senior Repertoire Class has been invited to perform with the Toronto Youth Wind Orchestra and four other high schools in a concert conducted by American composer, Frank Ticheli on Friday, March 5th.  The students will work with Mr. Ticheli in rehearsal at 2:30 p.m. There will be a another brief rehearsal and the students will be dismissed for a dinner break until 5:30 p.m.  Following dinner, pictures will be taken of the ensemble and the groups performing in Europe in May.

Students will be leaving the school by bus at 11:45 to go to the Toronto Centre for the Arts and a bus will return following the concert at 10:30 pm.  The performance begins at 8 p.m in the Weston Concert Hall which has one of the finest acoustics in the city of Toronto.

Only 50 tickets are available to Woodlands family and friends at a discounted price of $15 each.  Since discounted tickets are limited they will be sold on a first come, first served basis.  Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity!  Once they run out, standard-priced tickets can be purchased from the Toronto Centre for the Performing Arts at $25 for adults and $15 for students.  The cost of the transportation is $5 and students are asked to return the signed permission form with the bus money by Tuesday, March 2nd.

It is a privilege for the Senior Concer Band to be included in this concert and a fabulous opportunity for the students to play some of their restival repertoire in this wonderful concert hall.
